From Tbilisi, we drive east to the Kakheti wine region. Our bike tour begins near Sagarejo on quiet asphalt, covering 35–45 km across stunning semi-desert landscapes. The route transitions from smooth roads to village dirt tracks as we approach the historic David Gareji cave monastery complex, founded in the 6th century.
We pause for a picnic lunch at the artisan Oasis Club in Udabno village. After exploring the main monastery, we embark on a 40-minute moderate hike to the ridge. From this ancient vantage point, you’ll enjoy panoramic views over the plains of Azerbaijan.
A support vehicle accompanies the group all day, offering a rest whenever needed. In the late afternoon, we return to Tbilisi by vehicle.
