David joined our team in 2022 after more than 20 years of experience in development cooperation, working on climate change, disaster risk reduction, and forestry projects. Seeking a new challenge, he decided to test himself in the private sector. David is an avid cycling and ski mountaineering enthusiast. In addition to his role at Mplus, he also manages Altihut, the first European-type mountain hut in the Caucasus Mountains.
A former professional basketball player and successful coach, he is also passionate about cycling and skiing. A quick look at his Strava profile reveals that he has climbed more vertical meters than anyone in Georgia and ranks among the top 100 worldwide. He joined our team in 2020, and when he is not cycling or skiing, he works tirelessly to ensure the shop runs perfectly.
Maia is the longest-serving member of the MPLUS team. She knows every detail of the business and is truly the “mom” of the team. When she is around, we know that everything is under control.
A hardworking, reliable, and very experienced team member. Although he also enjoys cycling and hiking, his true passion is model railways. When the family is asleep, he can often be found tinkering with his latest project. During the winter season, he manages our rental operations; the rest of the year, he supports the team in the shop.
Physically, she is incredibly strong few people can keep up with her when she is climbing yet another 5,000-meter peak. Like many artistic personalities, she is also very emotional and sensitive. She knows and loves the hiking and mountaineering equipment in the shop. Rather than strictly following product manuals, she recommends gear based on her extensive personal experience in the mountains.
One day she will be a pathologist, quietly working in a morgue, probably one of the calmest (boring) jobs imaginable. But as long as she is still studying, she’s very much alive and kicking in our shop, happily advising customers on hiking gear, especially the equipment she personally loves and uses.
She is our youngest team member. Fluent in many languages, she is most often the one answering your messages on social media. If you don’t get a reply right away, please don’t be upset, she’s most likely busy helping customers at the cashier desk, who naturally have priority.
The guy who can fix literally everything. In summer, he works as a hut manager at 3,000 m a.s.l., while throughout the winter he is in the shop repairing skis and snowboards, mounting bindings, and enthusiastically discussing with customers exactly how many degrees their ski edges should be sharpened.
He is a certified hiking and biking guide who loves enduro motorcycles and traditional Georgian dancing, and he spends his winters working as a snowboard instructor. When Levan is with the group, we know that nothing can go wrong. He truly loves the country he is guiding in, and guests can always feel this passion throughout the tour.
Some say he is the best skier in Georgia, and they will not be wrong. Sandro spends all his winter in the mountainous Adjara and Bakhmaro guiding catskiing groups. In summer, he swaps skis for hiking boots, becoming a fun, knowledgeable, and endlessly responsible guide who makes every trail feel like an adventure.
He may look like Jesus, but unfortunately he can’t turn water into wine what he can do is take you on an incredible cycling adventure. One of the first certified guides in the country, he’s not only highly skilled but also a truly great personality.
His true passion is long-distance bikepacking. With his gravel bike, he’s ridden all over Europe and even all the way to India! In summer, he mostly guides our gravel tours, but when an MTB tour comes up, he transforms into a beast on his full-suspension bike, tearing through the single trails of the great Caucasus.
He is the most versatile guide on our team, able to lead bike, hiking, or ski tours with equal skill. A great driver and former cultural guide, he knows a lot about the history and culture of the places he takes you to, making every tour both adventurous and enriching.
Bekar is our lead mountain guide. He is a certified IFMGA guide and a true seeker of extremes in his free time. An avid steep skier, he has completed the first Georgian ski descent of Mt. Ushba, as well as descents of Ortsveri’s north face and Mt. Kazbek’s southeast face. Beyond his remarkable skills, he is a calm, approachable person who takes his work very seriously.
